Spirit Airlines and Universal Studios Hollywood have joined forces to bring a touch of nostalgia and magic to the skies. The first Airbus A320-271N adorned in Super Nintendo World livery was unveiled on February 21, 2024.
The Airbus A320-271N registration N986NK was revealed at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) before its maiden flight to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL). The flight took off just before 05:26 am EST.

Passengers on this flight were the first to witness the stunning collaboration between the airline and the renowned Hollywood theme park. The aircraft, freshly painted with iconic characters from the Mario franchise, is set to soar through the skies until May 2024. Spirit Airlines plans to operate flights from 20 different US cities to Los Angeles Airport (LAX), with the final destination being the magical realm of Universal Studios Hollywood.

The partnership between Universal Studios and Spirit Airlines marks the first anniversary of the highly acclaimed Super Nintendo World at the Hollywood theme park. This 3D land is a haven for fans of the beloved Mario franchise, featuring theme park rides inspired by the iconic Mario Kart and the nefarious Bowser.
As part of the celebrations, a select number of visitors to Super Nintendo World will receive a special treat—a commemorative 'Golden Power-Up Band' and a complimentary one-year 'Anniversary Button.' These exclusive items add an extra layer of excitement for fans exploring the thrilling rides and attractions at the theme park.
