Japan Airlines receives its 50th Boeing 787

On April 21st, 2021, JAL -Japan Airlines took delivery of its 50th Boeing 787-9, JA881J, on a nine-hour and sixteen-minute flight from Everett, USA (PAE/KPAE) to Tokyo (NRT/RJAA), Japan.

Japan Airlines currently operates a fleet of 48 - Boeing 787 Dreamliners, including 27 - 787-8 and 21 - Boeing 787-9s. The airline is one of the airlines with the largest Dreamliner fleet.

Japan Airlines was one of the first operators of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, being the second airline in the world to put the aircraft into service in September 2012. As the first route, JAL served the city of Tokyo - Boston with the Boeing 787-8.
